SPECIAL PROGRAMS
"A Holiday Remembrance"
Since 1987, Baue has provided a holiday grief program as a free community service to all. "A Holiday Remembrance" is a special program presented by Baue family and staff in which the emotions experienced during this time of year are explored and practical suggestions are provided. A memorial candlelighting closes the program. "A Holiday Remembrance" is presented between Thanksgiving and Christmas each year at all three Baue Funeral Home locations.
OTHER COMMUNITY SERVICES
DON'T DRINK & DRIVE PROGRAM - Baue staff also have fun with their "crashed car float" available to schools, organizations, etc., for school homecoming parades, community parades and picnics. The car issues the "don't drink & drive" message Baue has promoted vigorously and effectively for several years. Baue has also teamed up with area fire departments, police, EMS personnel and schools in presenting pre-prom programs. Teams re-enact, sometimes with gruesome reality, a drunk driving accident. A Baue hearse is called to the scene and staff "remove" the student "killed" by the drunk driver, another student.
FAIRS - Staff also man booths and informational tables at schools, health fairs, senior fairs and community events throughout the year where they distribute materials on community and grief services, funeral and advance planning information.
Baue has three free-standing tents and several water coolers that come in handy for groups to use at picnics, etc. The tents and coolers, complete with Baue logo, are offered at no charge and on an as-available basis.
Funeral Home Tours - We give tours of the funeral home to any group for educational purposes. These tours have proved a springboard for discussion of spiritual issues. Most people have never been through a funeral home. People of any age can schedule a tour. Teens are the best! Some church youth groups and schools will schedule an annual tour for a specific grade.
Books, Videos, and Brochure - We offer complete grief resource libraries in our St. Charles funeral home and our Funeral & Memorial Center.
