In memory of Andrew 'Andy' G. Lewandowski, of St. Charles, Missouri, who passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the age of 81.
Andy is survived by his beloved wife Mary T. Lewandowski (Nee: Modzinski), dear son of the late Stanley and Rozalia Lewandowski; loving father of Mark (Robin) Lewandowski, Monica Lewandowski, Mary Rose (Charles) Rogge, Edward (Barbara) Lewandowski, Patty (Mike) Mecklenburg, and John (Jill) Lewandowski; cherished grandfather of Dana Locke, Erika Fitch, the late Patrick Lewandowski, Max Lewandowski, Allison Buechert, Spencer Rogge, Tyler Lewandowski, Audrey Mecklenburg, the late Jeffrey Mecklenburg, Rachel Mecklenburg, Julianne Mecklenburg, Griffin Lewandowski, and Xavier Lewandowski; dear great-grandfather of Claire Locke and Evan Fitch; dearest brother and brother-in-law of Gloria (Al) Deeken, Delores (and the late Robert) Mayo, and Betty Lewandowski. He is preceded in death by his siblings Genevieve (Henry) Fisher, Walter Lewandowski, Edward, Estella, Victoria, Virginia, Rosemary, Carl, and Stanley. He was also a wonderful uncle, great uncle, and friend to many, and will be greatly missed by all.
Andy served as a navigator in the USAF on the KC-97s and KC-135s. After being medically discharged with rank as Captain from the military, he was employed for 25 years by the Defense Mapping Agency, and retired from his position as an Aeronautical Information Specialist. Andy's Golden Years were spent enjoying trips abroad with Mary, playing golf, and enjoying his grandchildren by attending every soccer, volleyball, tennis, softball, and dance competition that he could. Andy also served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for the St. Peters Senior Center for 18 years. Many afternoons were spent listening to Rush Limbaugh, and taking on house projects of his own and his children.
