Wolf, Caroline L., of O Fallon, Missouri, died on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the age of 98. Caroline was born on a farm in southern Illinois to Julius and Julia Anselment on December 20, 1911, midway between Dahlgren and Piopolis, Illinois. She was the middle child in the family with two older brothers Albert and Martin Anselment and two younger brothers John and George Anselment. Caroline worked in St. Louis as a domestic for a couple of years. On April 22, 1933, Caroline was married to Joseph J. Wolf in St. John Church in Piopolis. This union produced ten Children, Joseph (Marjorie Dickherber, deceased) L. Wolf, William Wolf, Carolyn M. (James) Vehige, Richard G. (Dorothy Krampe) Wolf, Sr. Julia Marie Wolf, C.PP.S, Margaret (Arthur) Korte, Patricia (Mark) Leuchtmann, Ruth (Duane) Randell, Mary (James) Leiling and Doris (Steven) Bridegan. Caroline had been a member of the Assumption Ladies Sodality, Quilting Club, Sister Friends Club, and St. Philippine Duchesne Fourth Degree Ladies Auxiliary. In 1994 she instituted the practice of praying the rosary before the masses. She organized leaders for this service until 1999. For nearly forty years Caroline was the principal caregiver of her quadriplegic son William who was injured in a swimming accident in 1956. Caroline was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Wolf and is survived by all of her children, 36 grandchildren, 2 deceased, 63 great-grandchildren, 2 deceased and 4 great-great-grandchildren, plus a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and many friends. Memorials may be made to Assumption Church for Masses or to Sisters of the Most Precious Blood.
