Donald “Don” Thorn

Donald “Don” Thorn of Maryland Heights, MO, joined his Savior Monday, October 8, 2018, at the age of 84 at his residence surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Shirley Thorn; cherished son of the late William and Beulah Thorn; devoted father of James (Bonnie) Thorn, Steve (Laura) Thorn, and Doris (Joseph) Enlow; loving grandfather of Jamie (Matthew) Cahalin, Bradley Thorn, Tyler Thorn, Victoria Thorn, and Marissa Toghiyany; treasured great-grandfather of Giovanni; and dear brother of Rada Moore. Don was also preceded in death by six siblings. He is an uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Don was a member of Union Local 513 Operating Engineers while he dedicated a long and fulfilling career for more than 45 years as an Engineer for Alberici Construction. In his spare moments, he enjoyed plucking at his guitar and learning new tunes. Don was also known as a true father figure. He spent many years passing along his skill and knowledge to his sons as he mentored them at Alberici Construction. He and his family created many long lasting and cherished memories throughout his life and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made in Don’s name to Missouri Botanical Garden.
