Frances “Fran” Gray, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018, at the age of 91. Beloved daughter of the late James Currie, Sr. and Mary Alice Gray; cherished aunt of Terry G. (Kathy) McClellan, Myrna McClellan, Susan (Dan) Norris, Karl (Donna) Gray, and Curt Gray; and is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Fran is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Elizabeth McClellan; and brother, James Currie Gray, Jr.
Fran was born in Chicago but lived most of her life in St. Louis. She was a church member of Friedens Chapel United Church of Christ in Bellefontaine Neighbors, and after moving to St. Charles in 2004, New Hope Presbyterian Church. Fran was a faithful follower of Christ. She worked as a secretary at McDonnell Douglas, but most of her career was spent at Monsanto where she retired. She was a longtime member of the Sigma Alpha Service Sorority, taught Sunday School, and spent many hours helping with church activities. Fran volunteered for many years at Lambert Field in the USO. She loved to play golf and traveled both nationally and internationally. Fran lived with her mother until she passed away in her nineties. She took care of her mother passionately and was looking forward to the day she would see her again. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
