Gerald Joseph Knott

Gerald Joseph Knott, of Lake St. Louis, MO, passed away Saturday, January 16th at the age of 82. Loving husband to the late Priscilla "Sandy" Knott; beloved son of the late Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Knott (nee McKay); Devoted father of Michael (Sherrie) Knott, Kelly Knott, Patrick (Karen) Knott, Karen Wilson, John (Heather) Knott, and David (Lynn) Knott; loving grandfather of 15; treasured great-grandfather of 1; dear brother of Mary Beth (Paul) McLenon, and the late Richard (Pamela) Knott.

Jerry was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in New Melle. He was married 59 years to Sandy, who preceded him in death by only 15 days. He was a graduate of Webster high school, class of 1955. Airman First Class U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1958.  Jerry spent most of his career in the grocery industry where he eventually retired from Bunzl, USA in 1998, where he was a general manager.  He and his wife Sandy were active members of Lake Forest Country Club where they both enjoyed golf, socializing, traveling, and just spending time with friends & family. Jerry took great pride in his family and large circle of friends… always willing to help should anyone ever need it. He was often the life of any gathering, always accompanied by his lovely wife. Jerry was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, and friend. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Donations may be made in Jerry’s name to the Jean Griswold Foundation.

Visitation will be for both Sandy, who passed away January 1^st, 2021, and Jerry on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Baue Funeral Home O'Fallon, 311 Wood Street from 4:30-7:30pm. The visitation and service will be for Jerry only on Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary in New Melle, MO. Burial for both Jerry and Sandy immediately following Saturday’s services.
