James A. “Jim” McKenna, Ph.D.

James A. "Jim" McKenna, Ph.D., of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, died on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the age of 79. Loving husband of Janet McKenna for 48 years; beloved son of the late Leo A. and Leila C. McKenna; devoted father of Theresa and Donald Wilson, Daniel McKenna, Deborah and Larry Eddings, Patricia Pannell, and Emily K. McKenna and Robert Long; cherished grandfather of 7; treasured great-grandfather of 11 and beloved uncle and great uncle. He is preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Dr. Jim McKenna was a well known therapist, trainer, consultant, speaker and author. He also was an active member in many organizations which are as follows: a Clinical Teaching Member of the International Transactional Analysis Association, a Supervising Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a diplomat of the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, American Diabetes Association or Children Hospital.
