John A. Lucas, Sr.

Lucas, Sr., John A., of Saint Charles, MO, died Friday, November 18, 2016, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Carol Lucas; cherished son of the late Alexander and Mary Jean Lucas; devoted father of John Lucas, Jr., Patrick Lucas, Karen Lucas (Bill Damm), Trace Lucas, Les (Cindy) Lucas, Mike (Wanda) Lucas, and Cyndi Lucas; loving grandfather of Ayla, Edie, Andy (Melanie), Nancy, Lily, Caylie (Zach), Levi, Joe, Austin, Hunter, and Jayde ; treasured great-grandfather of  Archer; and honorary father of Steve (Debbie) Sanders and Kim (Missy) McCubbin. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Robert A. Lucas and Dorothea Newton.

John served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion Post 312 and the Geneseo Moose Lodge 990. He was an avid reader, loved airplanes, and enjoyed socializing with his friends at the American Legion over a cold PBR. He was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 312 or Marine Corps Toys for Tots.

A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post 312 on Sunday, December 11th at 1pm.
