John D. Brown

Brown, John D., of Elsberry, Missouri, joined our Lord on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the age of 83.  Loving husband of Toni A. Brown; beloved son of the late Ray E. and Edna A. Brown; devoted father of Melissa (Jason) Clark, Morgan Brown, Danny (Vicki) Brown, Janet (Kenneth) Andreas, Linda (Michael) Uveges, and Ruth (Rex) Steinruck; cherished grandfather of Zachary Clark, Maya Clark, Madison Clark, and many other grandchildren; dear brother of Richard Brown. John is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his son Ray Brown, daughter Heather Brown, granddaughter Emily Clark, brothers William "Bill" Brown and James "Jim" Brown, and sisters Mary Lou Brooks and Betty Hegwood.
John proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Later in life, he worked in printing and construction. He was very active in the Elsberry VFW Post 9064. He was also a member of the AMVETS and the American Legion. John enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his workshop raising many different kinds of livestock to include his beloved llama Hopi, and going to the Coffee Club. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
