John Herbert “Herb” Simpson, Jr.

September 24, 1938 — December 4, 2015

John Herbert Simpson, Jr. , Herb, age 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, December 4, 2015. As heavy as our hearts are at the loss of this incredible man, we rejoice in the unwavering fact that Herb is with his Savior, Jesus Christ. No more worry, no pain, no illness, just blissful peace and love. Herb was born September 24, 1938 in Upland, Pennsylvania to John Herbert Simpson, Sr. and Elizabeth Rebecca Simpson, both of whom precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by his only son, John Herbert Simpson III. We are certain that Herb’s reunion with John in their heavenly home will be incredible!

Herb is survived by his wife, his love, his partner and best friend of 54 years, Gale Marie Simpson, his daughters Joy Marie Simpson and her husband Timothy Carlson, Jane Elizabeth Simpson and his daughter-in-love, Taressia Simpson-Shirley. His precious grandchildren, Madison Marie, John “Jake” Herbert Simpson IV, Aaron Rhea Simpson and Catherine Dianne Simpson and his bonus grandchildren Hayden and Hannah Carlson. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-love David and Kathy Simpson, his sister, Janet Rittenhouse, his sisters-in-love Linda Barron and Sandy Arbuckle and his much loved nieces and nephews; Tami Dawn, Matt, Jeff, Jenny, Donna Lynn, Wayne, Jason, David and LeeAnn. Herb is survived by many that love him and that he loved dearly. Last but not least, he is survived by his protector, comforter, napping partner and grand-dog, Jackson “Brother” Simpson.

Herb proudly served his country in the United States Army.
