John R. Edwards

John R. Edwards, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away September 26, 2017, at the age of 75.  Loving husband of 44 years to Darleen Edwards; beloved son of the late John F. and Rosa Alta Edwards; devoted father of Brian (Susan) Ermeling, David (Misty) Ermeling, and Sarah (Jacob) Long; cherished grandfather of Melissa (Jeremy) Hodge, Amber (Chris) Tegtmeyer, Candis (John Galloway) Ermeling, Matthew Ermeling, Drake Long, and Coraline Long; treasured great-grandfather of Emma Hodge, Elea Hodge, and Lucas Galloway; and dear brother of Kathryn (Sammy) Myatt, JoAnn (Jerry) Copeland, and the late Jean Miller.

John proudly served in the U.S. Army.  He retired from Boeing/McDonnell Douglas after more than 35 years as an expeditor in production control.  He was a member of the Aerospace District 837 Retirement Club.  He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in O’Fallon, Missouri.  With his love of gardening, John and his wife sold vegetables, jams, and jellies at the Washington, Missouri Farmer’s Market, where they were known as ‘Edwards Country Kitchen.’  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  He was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.
