John W. Chalk, of St. Peters, MO, passed on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the age of 90. Loving husband of 68 years to Lina Verna Chalk; beloved son of the late Hugh and Lena Mae Chalk; devoted father of Regina (Jerry) Clubb, Johnny (Anita) Chalk, Debbie (Paul) Giesler, and Linda (Vern) Lenzini; cherished grandfather of Felicia (Michael) Bradley, Elissa (Clay) Turner, Tracy (Katie) Clubb, Kelly Clubb, Crystal (Tim) Schuster, David (Elisha) Giesler, Tami (James) Fawcett, Dominique Lenzini, Melanie Searan; treasured great-grandfather of Amanda, Austin, and Andrew Bradley, Jordan and Brittany Turner, Molly, Maggie, and Marley Schuster, Lexi Barnes, Taylor and Edward Fawcett, Emily, Evelyn, and Kyle Clubb; Preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Chalk and Dan Chalk; sisters, Jackie Murley and June Chalk.
John was ordained as a deacon on May 17, 1981 at First Baptist Church of Maryland Heights. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1949. John attended Southwest Baptist College from 1951 – 1953. John loved fishing, bowling, woodworking, playing guitar, and singing. He was a very devout Christian, he taught Sunday School, and read the bible daily. John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
