Rauch, Laura Elizabeth, (nee: Mudd) of St. Charles, MO, died on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Henry P. Rauch; cherished daughter of the late Arthur D. Mudd and Vara (Webster) Mudd Karrenbrock; devoted mother of Lucy D. Rauch and the late Laura D. Rauch; loving sister of Gordon D. (Jeanne) Mudd; treasured aunt of Greg Mudd, Mark Critchfield, Anne Mudd Rosner, Thomas Mudd, and James (Tammy) Mudd; dear great-aunt of Christopher Mudd and Connor Mudd.
Elizabeth graduated from Lindenwood University in 1944. She actively served in many organizations, some of which were the Red Cross Regional Advisory Committee, the St. Charles Historical Society, JY Chapter of PEO, Butler and Sibley Society at Lindenwood University, Board of St. Joseph’s Health Center Foundation and Century Club, and was an officer of the Lindenwood University Board of Directors. She also served on the St. Louis Archdiocesan Development Appeal Council, the Women’s Division of the United Way of Greater St. Louis, and was a founder of Mother’s Club at Academy of the Sacred Heart. Elizabeth was the recipient of many honorable awards, including the Clara Barton award from the American Red Cross, the Alumni Merit Award at Lindenwood University in 1994, an honorary doctorate from Lindenwood in 2009, and was appointed a lifetime member of the Lindenwood Board of Directors in 2009. She was honored by the St. Louis Chapter of the National Society of Fundraising Professionals, St. Charles County Youth In Need in 1995, and was named St. Charles Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Years in 1992.
Elizabeth had many accomplishments throughout her life, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lindenwood University, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Academy of Sacred Heart, or St. Joseph Hospital.
