Brooks (nee: Castle), Lois, of St. Charles, MO, died on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the age of 86. Dear daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Esther Ada Castle; loving wife of 65 years to the late Wilbur Brooks; devoted mother of Lavonne (Jim) Breite, Teresa (Charles Krebs) Brooks, Scott (Chunya) Brooks, the late George Harrison Brooks and the late Marlin Eric Brooks; cherished grandmother of Matt (Heather) Breite and Erica (Justin) Bergfalk; dear sister of Barbara Klippel, the late Genevieve Roberts, and the late Margaret Brumley. Lois was a beloved aunt, cousin and friend to many. Lois' principal interest was in raising her four children. In that regard she was always involved in their schools and the St. Charles community. Once her children were grown, Lois was the school photo coordinator for 20 years with Hal Wagner Photo Studio. Prior to her employment there, she and her husband Wilbur owned and ran Brooks Brothers Trailers in Wentzville where she was the office manager/accountant. One of Lois' passions was volunteering for organizations such as the PTA, Scouts, and her church. She was a very devoted, faithful and motivated member of the Faith United Methodist Church where she cherished singing in the choir. Lois was very active with United Methodist Women throughout her life. Also, she volunteered countless hours for FCE, Family and Community Education, aka Missouri Home Extension Service, where she held numerous offices and was even recognized with the Diana Award for her community service. She touched the lives of many, and will be missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church.
