Maurice F. “Moe” Barklage

Barklage, Maurice F. “Moe”, of St. Charles, MO, died on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the age of 95. Loving husband of the late Ruth C. Barklage; beloved son of the late Alfred and Ella Barklage; devoted father of Sharon Ell, Keith (Sue) Barklage, Karen (Xavier) Hernandez, and Kevin (Lyn) Barklage; cherished grandfather of 10; treasured great-grandfather of 18; dear great-great-grandfather of 1. He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Barklage and his sister, Helen Hollrah.
Maurice proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a post office worker and retired after many years. Maurice was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles and of American Legion Post 312. He loved woodworking, dancing, cooking, ceramics, and gardening. Moe took special pride in his historic house in St. Charles that he helped build as a young man. Mostly, Moe loved being with his family and friends, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
