Crowe, Miriam J. (nee: Linder), 93, of O'Fallon, MO, died on Friday, October 14, 2016.
Miriam was born to Walter and Iloe Linder on April 20, 1923 in Marion, Ohio. She graduated from Harding High School in Marion, Ohio in 1942.
After graduation Miriam attended Office Training School in Columbus, Ohio. After finishing school she was employed by Marion Reserve Power Company. She volunteered evenings and weekends at Marion City Hospital as a Red Cross Nurse’s Aid. During WWII Miriam worked at Wright Patterson Field Army Base in Dayton, Ohio.
Miriam is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs, Florida. She is a life member of Job’s Daughters and Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1942. She was an active Red Cross Motor Corp member in Mansfield, Ohio and worked with Bloodmobiles in all cities where she has resided.
She married Robert D. Crowe on March 23, 1946. “Bob” served 4 ½ years as a medic in the 112th Medical Battalion in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After 55 years of marriage, Robert died on December 16, 2011.
Miriam worked in the Upper Arlington Public Schools as a Library Media Specialist and retired in 1983. She and Robert then moved to Bonita Springs, Florida part time for the next 14 years. They made Bonita Springs their permanent home in 1997. Miriam was active in her retirement community teaching water aerobics, organizing the cribbage weekly games, volunteering in the library at the church, and she particularly enjoyed Big Band music and dancing. Bob and Miriam could really “cut a rug”! Miriam moved to O’Fallon in 2014 to be nearer to her daughter.
Miriam and Bob have one daughter, Jody Stauffer. Jody and her husband David reside in O’Fallon, Missouri. Jody has two daughters; Jessica Eaton (Nick), and Jennifer Dillon (Mathew). Miriam was blessed with two Great-Grandchildren in the past 3 years; Isaac Eaton and Danielle Rae Dillon.
Daniel Rae was born on Miriam’s 91st birthday. Miriam has one brother, Richard Linder, who resides in Memphis, Tennessee.
