Patricia “Patt” was born in Colorado Springs in 1936. She led a fascinating life, with her father having run large hotels throughout the Western United States, including the Hollywood Roosevelt during her grade school years. This was where Johnny Weissmuller, the first movie Tarzan, taught her to swim. She attended 13 schools until graduating from the University of New Mexico in 1958.
Patt married Jan Donald Holt in 1959 and re-located to St. Charles, Missouri in 1964 where she made her home until present. She was a member of the Newcomers Club upon moving here, the start of many close friendships enduring until present. Patt was a beloved teacher at St. Charles Borromeo, where she taught English and later, music. This is how the Patt Holt Singers were born, and who continued singing nearly 50 years, until 2019.
The Patt Holt Singers toured nationally, including singing at the White House 5 times. They were recognized as St. Charles City Ambassadors for many years. The singers also spawned “Just Kids” and “The Connection,” and later spawned various groups traveling globally to entertain at U.S. military bases around the world. Patt had such love and respect for our veterans. It was through these many years she formed enduring friendships with so many. She continued close friendships with friends from grade school, high school, and college until passing, as well as those she first met when moving here.
Patt was most proud of her children Lynn (Steve) Hollander, Jennifer (Jeff) Holian, and the late Margaret Lee Holt; her grandchildren, Shannon Hollander (James Haggy), Christine (Bryan) Kayser, Michael Hollander (Lauren Loomis), Samuel Holian; and great grandchild Morgan Nicole Kayser.
Patt was a cherished Mother, Grandmother, Teacher, Mentor and Friend who gave us unbounding love and laughter. Her life-spirit, how she made us laugh, nurtured and loved us, are her ultimate legacy that will live in our hearts forever.
