Richard “Rich” Sommer
May 29, 1961 — January 21, 2017
Sommer, Richard “Rich”, of St. Charles, MO, died on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the age of 55. Loving husband of 27 years to Suzanne (nee: Hecht) Sommer; beloved son of the late Urban and Elizabeth Sommer; cherished father of Ashley Sommer and Mikayla Sommer; dear brother of Jean Villaveces, Mary Eusterbrock, Urban Sommer, and Ronald Sommer.
Rich was a hard worker serving as a volunteer Firefighter for St. Charles Fire Protection District, he loved DIY projects, problem solving, and boating at Mark Twain Lake. Rich worked at General Motors for 31 years and most of that time as a team leader. Rich was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and served as church president, elder, trustee, and usher. Mostly he loved being with his family and friends. Rich will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
