Ronald Dale Files, Sr. , age 72, of St. Charles, Missouri, died peacefully Tuesday, June 28, 2011, with his family by his side. A son of the late John Wesley and Ella Nancy Files (nee: Hill), Ron was born on December 8, 1938, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri . Ron worked as a Mechanic at the Midwest Recyclers for many years before his retirement. He was a Baseball Coach for many years for the R3 Baseball League and former Shop Steward with Local 777 working at Ken Bender in St. Charles. Ron is survived by his wife, Shirley M. “Devil” Files whom he met walking down the street in Poplar Bluff and knew at that point one day they would be married; his three sons Ronald Dale (Dawn) Files, Jr., Gary (Kristen) Files and Bobby Eugene Files; his cherished grandchildren, Chris (Aimee), Danielle and Matthew Files; his brother, Delbert Files and his sister, Marie Williams. He had many special relationships including that of Jerry and Dorothy and all of his family at Midwest Recyclers. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and sisters. Family and friends will gather on Friday, July 1, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson Street, St. Charles, Missouri. A time to share memories will start at 7:30 PM. Cremation will take place at the Baue Crematory with a final tribute at St. Charles Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Joseph SSM Hospice.
