Devoted mother of Gene Chmielewski, Juliette (Paul) Travous, Matthew (Millie) Chmielewski, and Anna Maria Anderson; loving grandmother of Amanda Mounce, Thomas Heller, Jessica Loyd, Travis Heller, Gregory (Shiori) Chmielewski, Anthony (BriAnne) Militello, Levi (Rachelle) Atteberry, Sarah (Justin) Davis, Kaitlin (Kevin) Gill, William Travous, and Darran Dale; treasured great-grandmother of Isaac, Emma Marie, Marley, Ryan, Aiden, Emily, David, Mia, Raymond, and Katterina; dear sister of Dolly Durrell; and sister in law of Billie Young and Willie Clark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Norris; parents, Charles and Mary Tracz Young; one daughter, Emma Lee Heller; and siblings, Winnie Clark, Ronald Young, and Henry Young.
Shirley was born on December 10, 1935 in Granite City, Illinois. She lived in Sedona, Arizona for almost 23 years. She was a devout catholic and longtime member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sedona. Shirley was extremely talented in many facets of her life. She was a sculptor and poet, belonging to the Sedona Artists Association and various writing and poetry clubs. She could also play the guitar and was learning to play the mandolin. She was a go-getter and enjoyed every moment of her life. Shirley cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed.
