Sophia E. “Peppy” Montgomery
August 11, 1923 — February 26, 2018
Sophia E. “Peppy” Montgomery (nee: Godfrey), of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018, at the age of 94. Loving wife of 69 years to Maurice J. Montgomery; beloved daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Annie Josephine Godfrey; dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend to many. Sophia is preceded in death by her siblings.
Sophia retired after more than 20 years as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed life and had a good life. She loved to travel with her husband, and they visited all 50 states, and also traveled to Rome, Italy. They also looked forward to the biannual pilgrimages to Starkenburg, MO in May and September. She enjoyed quilting with her husband. She also liked bowling and photography. Sophia was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
