Thomas J. McPheeters

McPheeters, Thomas J., of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the age of 100. Loving husband of the late Esther M. McPheeters; beloved son of the late James and Lieu McPheeters; devoted father of Michele (David) Berra; cherished grandfather of Tina, Steven and Andrea Berra; treasured great-grandfather of Madeline, Reagen and Josephine; dear brother-in-law of Earl Bates, Dorothy McPheeters and Florence Flor; dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his siblings Robert, John, Jack, Lydia and Goldie. Thomas was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of St. Charles. He was a former member of Hope Lutheran Church in St. Ann for over 50 years, where he served as chairman and treasurer and head of various committees. He was a member of the Lathers Union of St. Louis, MO., where he served as Secretary/Treasurer for 12 years. He proudly served his country during WW II in the U. S. Navy. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3944 of Overland/St. Ann, where he volunteered at fish frys for over 30 years. He played amateur baseball for 5 decades, and was inducted in the Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in March of 1983. He also loved to fish. He and his wife Esther were members of "Dudes and Dolls" Square Dance Club. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Memorials may be made to Thomas J.
