Virginia W. Terry

Terry, Virginia W., of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the age of 95. Loving wife of the late Arthur William Terry; beloved daughter of the late Younger and Bonn Wilson; devoted mother of Virginia "Jenny" (Robert Adams) Preston and Kenneth Terry; cherished grandmother of William Terry, David Terry, Steven (Nancy) Terry, John Martin Terry, Susan (Dave) Hustace, Matthew (Tyler) Terry, and Mark (Kathy) Terry; treasured great-grandmother of 4; dear sister of Kathryn Mayes; loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She is preceded in death by her sons, Thomas, John, and James Terry; grandson, Daniel Terry; and sister, Geraldine Williams.
Virginia was employed at St. Charles School District as the Elementary School Library Coordinator. She was a member of A.A.U.W., Lindenwood Alumni Association, St. Charles Historical Society, and the Missouri School Library Association. Virginia assisted in facilitating the merger of St. Charles City and County library systems and was the first recipient of the Library Legends Award for significant contributions. She even has a library named after her at Null Elementary School. She was an avid reader, card player, and a loyal St. Louis Cardinal's fan. She travelled extensively throughout her life both domestically and overseas. Virginia will be remembered as a very outgoing, bubbly, and caring lady with a great sense of humor and joy for life. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorials may be made to St. Charles City Library or AAUW
