Walter Raymond Harrison

Harrison, Walter Raymond, of St. Peters, Missouri, died on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the age of 85. Dearest husband of the late Gloria P. Harrison NEE: Lathy; dear son of the late Harry and Vida Harrison; cherished father of Linda Harrison and the late Patricia Harrison; beloved grandfather of Christine; dear brother-in-law of Diane Johnson; Edward "Danny" Lathy and Thomas Lathy; beloved friend to caregivers, Tracy, Marie, and Tina, also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister and brother, Joan Dodson and Frank Harrison. Walter was an Engineer with McDonnell Douglas for over 40 years before his retirement. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII, served in all 5 campaigns, served under General George Patton and was awarded 5 Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. He loved the Colorado Rocky Mountains; fascinated with science, airplanes, gadgets and electronics, enjoyed Cards baseball and Blues hockey. Above all, he was well known for his kindness, being helpful to everyone and his love for his family. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans or American Cancer Society.
