Agnes Louise Hooks (nee Dockery), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at the age of 94. She was surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren. Agnes was born December 30, 1927 in New Madrid, MO to Robert E. and Nellie Mae (née Williams) Dockery and joined in marriage to Albert Shelton Hooks. Together in love they had a beautiful family with a daughter, Alice (the late Emil) Horstmeier and son, the late Thomas Albert (late Terry) Hooks; 5 grandchildren, Karen L. (Thomas) Horstmeier Nicklin, Thomas J. (Jessica) Hooks, Michael S. Hooks, Steven J. (Tina Mattingly) Horstmeier, and Melissa M. Hooks, 11 Great-Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Great Grandchildren. Agnes is also survived by her sister, Rosetta Smith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Shelton Hooks; parents, Robert E. and Nellie Mae Dockery; son and daughter-in-law Thomas Albert & Terry Hooks; sister, Mary Watts; and brother, Marion E. Dockery.
Agnes was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2866. She loved the community she found there with her husband, Albert, and enjoyed playing bingo, and participating in the many events they held. Agnes also loved to join and lead the quilting circles at the St. Charles Senior Center. In her free time, Agnes would test her luck at the casino and spend time in her garden. Agnes was a woman of great faith and love which she shared with her family each and every day. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
