Agnes Mae Stauffer (nee: Vaught), of St. Peters, Missouri, died on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the age of 94. Born May 5, 1916 to Owen Otto Vaught and Edna Mae Vaught in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Agnes was married to Richard Fredrick Stauffer for 65 years until his death on December 23, 2001. Agnes is survived by her dear children, Carolyn Jean (Roger) Stevens, David Hamilton (Jody) Stauffer, and Deborah Jane (Steve) Pentecost, and grandchildren Roger S. Stevens and Katy W. Stevens, Richard V. Stauffer and Erika C. Stauffer, Jessica L. (Nick) Eaton (nee: Carter) and Jennifer L. (Mat) Dillon (nee: Carter), and Genevieve Pentecost. Agnes was a first grade teacher for eleven years with the Parkway School District. She was a member of the Union Avenue Christian Church in St. Louis from 1951-1984 then became a member of First Presbyterian Church of Port Charlotte, Florida from 1984-2006. A special thanks to the staff of The Villages of St. Peters for their care, comfort, and compassion. Remains will be cremated and returned to Florida. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
