Albert E. “Al” Mennemeier

July 2, 1934 — April 23, 2014

Albert E. "Al" Mennemeier, of O'Fallon, Missouri, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the age of 79. Loving husband of Mary Jo Mennemeier (nee: Koch); dear son of the late Henry and Genevieve Mennemeier; devoted father of Colleen (Jeff) Grillo, Douglas (Bonnie) Mennemeier, Jeffrey Mennemeier, and Sheila (Ron) Graham; cherished grandfather of Abby, Ryan, Rachel, Zachary, Tyler, Gavin, Emily, Shelby, Bailey, and Brody; treasured great-grandfather of Kaiya and Sophie; dear brother of Victor Mennemeier, Charles (Laverne) Mennemeier, Henrietta (James) Cole, Eileen Mennemeier, Barbara Waidman; brother-in-law of Johnny Koch and Jane Parr; dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his siblings Raphael Mennemeier, Paul Mennemeier, and Bertha Griewig.
Al was a Master Plumber for 40 years and was a member of the Union Local # 35 and VFW Post # 5077 of O'Fallon. Albert was very creative, a crafter, and man with many talents including woodworking. He also enjoyed traveling, road trips, hunting and fishing. His greatest enjoyment in life was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Missouri Conservation Department or Koenig Center Infusion Department in Lake St. Louis (checks payable to St. Joseph Foundation).
