Albert J. Rufkahr

Rufkahr, Albert J. (90) passed away peacefully at his home in Saint Charles, MO, on Saturday January 2, 2016. Loving husband of the late Josephine Rufkahr (nee: Korte); beloved son of the late Alves and Frances Mary Rufkahr; devoted father of Cliff (Eve) Rufkahr, Kevin Rufkahr, Larry Rufkahr, Dale (Susan) Rufkahr, Debbie (Brian) Martinez, Janice (Frank) Sitar, and Michael (Carol) Rufkahr; cherished grandfather of Christopher (Kelly) Rufkahr, Anneliese (Josh) Fischer, Jarod (Kelly) Rufkahr, Jason Rufkahr, James (Meaghan) Rufkahr, Laura (Cole) Nave, Christine (Bryon) Hale, Matthew (Meghan) Lahr, Stephanie Rufkahr, Andrew Martinez, Kathryn (Ben) Nogly, Lauren Sitar, Erin Sitar, Ashley Rufkahr, Kelley Rufkahr, Adam Rufkahr, and Thomas Rufkahr; treasured great-grandfather of Dylan, Declan, Noah, Lucy, Wyatt, Aiden, Addie, Cailyn, Logan, Baby Corina on the way, Jack, Ali, Austin, and Molly.

Mr. Rufhahr is preceded in death by his siblings; Emmett Rufkahr, Elroy Rufkahr, Clyde Rufkahr, Dorothy Engelmeyer, Helena Rufkahr, and Frances Rufkahr.

After serving in WWII and marrying the girl of his dreams, Mr. Rufkahr began his business career as the owner of Pepsi Cola Distributing. He, along with investors, opened St. Charles County Bank and he served several years on the Board of Directors of Mercantile Bank. He enjoyed his time as President of the Do Nothing Club of St. Charles. Although business took a great deal of time, Mr. Rufkahr always found time for family, friends, farming, popper-tractors, and country living. He will be dearly missed.
