Albert Owen Griese
October 10, 1934 — November 26, 2020
Albert Owen Griese, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 63 years to Helen Griese; cherished son of the late Frank and Ethel Griese; devoted father of Mike (Ann) Griese, Dave (Janette) Griese and Rebecca “Becky” (Doug) Bruenning; loving grandfather of Andrew Griese, Scott Griese, Daniel Griese, and Zachary Bruenning; dear brother of the late Frank Griese and James Griese.
Al proudly served in the United States Army. He was a man a great faith and attended Bellefontaine United Methodist Church and later, First St. Charles United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir, mowing and helping to take care of the grounds.
Al retired as an Assistant Director of Data Processing at SIU Edwardsville for 22 years, but also dedicated years to SIU Carbondale and working at The Missouri Pacific Railroad. In his free time, Al enjoyed golf and spending time with his family. Al was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Al's name to Alzheimer’s Association.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
