Alger “Al” Colthorp

April 25, 1934 — October 18, 2011

Colthorp, Alger "Al", of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, died on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the age of 77. Loving husband of Marie Colthorp NEE:Warner; beloved son of the late Floyd and Genevieve Colthorp; devoted father of Lynn (Bob Cappucino) Colthorp-Cohrs, Cynthia (John Nagel) Colthorp, Alan (Angela) Colthorp, Scott Colthorp and Craig (Maria) Colthorp; dear step-father of Constance Graziano, John (Erin) Graziano and Carol Graziano; cherished grandfather of Michael, Hannah, Hailey, Alexander, Matthew, Thomas, Sean, Nick, and Mathew; treasured great-grandfather of Brianna; dear brother of Katherine (Cornell) Foltuz and Fenton Colthorp. Al is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Elizabeth Joyce Colthorp. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Doyle Colthorp, Phyllis Horst, Theodore Colthorp and Victor Colthorp. He was loved by many other family and friends. We are very appreciative of the many members and caregivers of Delmar Gardens and Chestnut Terrace. Al graduated from Michigan State University with his masters in Civil Engineering, and was a registered Professional Engineer (P.E). Al volunteered for the Dardenne Creek Stream Rehabilitation and served on the Engineering Committee for LSL Community Association. He enjoyed golfing, sailing, boating, gardening, landscaping, skiing, ice skating, and the never ending outdoor "projects". Memorials may be made to American Parkinson's Association. Barbershop quartet to play from 6:30 pm - ? on Friday evening at the Visitation/Gathering. Enjoy Bob Adcok and his trio preform in memorance of the music much loved by Al.
