Alois G. Neuwirth

Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Church, P.O. Box 130, 400 Sycamore, Bland, MO 65014. Alois G. "Al" Neuwirth, Jr., of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the age of 84. Loving husband of 60 years to Grace Neuwirth; dear son of the late Alois George, Sr. and Katherine A. Neuwirth; dearest father of David (Patrice) Neuwirth, Robert (Ginger) Neuwirth, Steven (Mary) Neuwirth and Connie (Richard) Truesdale; cherished grandfather of Laura, Matthew, Casey, Karrie, Erik, Melissa, Lindsey, Nicole and Scott; beloved great-grandfather of Kalyn, Julia and Nicolas; dear brother of Kathleen (Bill) Franke and the late Richard Neuwirth. Al was a Mechanical Engineer at Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria, Illinois. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washingrton University, St. Louis, MO; worked as a Mechanical Engineer for McDonnell Douglas for 19 1/2 years prior to working for Caterpillar. After retiring at age 65, he became a Certified Paramedic in Bland and Owensville, MO. He also served as a Volunteer Fireman until age 78. He and his wife, Grace, donated a fire truck to the Fire Department in Bland, MO and was a member of VFW in Owensville, MO.
