Alois J. Tochtrop

Tochtrop, Alois J. 'Ollie', of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the age of 81. Loving husband of Pat Tochtrop (née: Salfen); beloved son of the late Fred A. and Elizabeth Tochtrop; devoted father of Jeanne (Bob) Palombo, Carolyn Tochtrop, Ann (Barry) Bender, and Lisa (Kevin) Bazzell; cherished grandfather of Tricia (Nate) Lovan, Tony (Megan) Palombo, Jeffrey Bender, Steven Bender, Kyle Bazzell, and Austin Bazzell; treasured great-grandfather of Oliver Lovan and another great-grandson on the way; dear brother of Fred H. (Helen) Tochtrop; dear brother-in-law of Julian "Duffy" Smith. Ollie is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Katie Bender, and his sisters Sr. Miriam Joseph Tochtrop C.PP.S and Bernadine Smith. Ollie was President of St. Vincent DePaul Society for 39 years and a member for over 50 years, a member of Knights of Columbus, and a very active member of Assumption Catholic Church. He was a very kind, loving and respected man who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
