Amanda Loretta Donnelly, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the age of 96. Loving wife of the late John Donnelly; beloved daughter of the late Frances and Joseph Dalman; devoted mother of Larry (Wanda) Donnelly, Linda (Edward) Eschenfelder, Sharon (Edward "Woody") Krull, and the late John Donnelly; cherished grandmother of Michael Donnelly, Sean Donnelly, Jared (Sarah) Miller, and Samantha Miller (Stephen Heller – Fiance), treasured great grandmother of Ray Heller and Lily Heller. Amanda was also preceded in death by her siblings, Eleanor, Irene, Don, Louie, Emil, Emily, Tilly, and Sue.
Amanda was a wonderful homemaker for her husband and children. She married her husband in 1942 and they moved to San Francisco. After the war, they moved to Bridgeton where her husband was employed at McDonnell Douglas. In the sixties, they moved to a farm in St. Paul, MO. Then in the late seventies they moved to St. Peters in their own home.
Amanda liked arts & crafts and gardening fruits & vegetables. She was an amazing cook and knew how to handle a rolling pin when it came to baking. Everyone looked forward to her baked goods, especially at the church picnics in St. Paul where her caramel rolls and coffee rings were a favorite treat!
As a strong woman of her faith, Amanda volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary at All Saints. She also enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels at the St. Peter's Senior Center. She liked to travel, and was able to visit the Holy Land, Poland, and ventured out on some ocean cruises with her friends.
Amanda was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorial contributions may be made in Amanda's name to
St. Patrick's Center.
