Amelia L. McGeehan

McGeehan, Amelia L. of Saint Charles, MO, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at the age of 84. Loving wife of the late Richard J. McGeehan; beloved daughter of the late Stanley and Lottie Student; devoted mother of Judy McGeehan, Richard McGeehan, Debra (Craig) Meyer, Daniel (Angela) McGeehan, and Melissa Shuttleworth; cherished grandmother of Sam Thomason, Molly (Ryan) Stiles, Brandon (Theresa) McGeehan, Chelsea (Nick) Hartley, Paige Sparks, and Hunter Sparks; loving great-grandmother of Charlie McGeehan and Maisy Amelia Stiles; and dear sister of Stanley (Lois) Student and sister-in-law of Sophie Student. Amelia is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Linda McGeehan, and her brother, Joseph Student.

Amelia, and her late husband Richard, were long-time members of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time at the local library and spending a lot of time outdoors, but she found the most joy in spending time with her family and her friends. Amelia was a very friendly, caring, and independent woman, who will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Out of respect for Amelia’s final wishes, her family has chosen not to have a funeral service. In lieu of sending flowers, you are encouraged to make donations to St. Charles City-County Library District, in Amelia’s honor.
