Amysue Schlesselman, age 75, of St. Peters, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 26 at her home under hospice care. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 29, 1947, to Joseph M. and Emily Sue Schardl (nee Wynne). Amy found the love of her life in 2010 marrying David Schlesselman and becoming a wife, a mother to the three children of David and Gaye, his first wife, and a grandmother all at the same time.
Amy is survived by her husband, David; bonus daughters, Jen (Rob) Jacklin and Denise (Shawn) Dillow; bonus son, Randall (Dawn) Schlesselman; seven grandchildren – Rachel, Sarah, Miriam, and Caleb Jacklin and Kamron, Zachary, and Caylin Schlesselman; one brother, Joseph Michael (Joan) Schardl; and two nieces, Jody (Trevor) Coleman and Jennifer (Liam) Collopy; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Amy was a dedicated 1st grade teacher in the Riverview Gardens School District. She loved children and was a second mother to the children of her very good friends, Michael and Jamie May. Amy loved gardening flowers, whether at home, the flower gardens at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, or helping neighbors. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends to marvel at God’s creation. Her warmth and love radiated to everyone she met, and her friendly smile will be missed by many.
Memorials may be made in Amy’s name to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in O’Fallon, Missouri, where she was an active member, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
