In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter Church, St. Vincent dePaul Society of St. Peter Church or Boys & Girls Club of St. Charles County. Andrew H. McColloch was born July 8, 1922 on a farm at Ely, Missouri (which is on Highway 24-36, 5 miles west of West Ely which is near Philadelphia, Missouri). He graduated from Monroe City High School in 1939 and attended the Unversity of Missouri - Columbia from 1939-1942. He enlisted in the United States Navy in March, 1942 and was designated a Naval Aviator and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in May, 1943. He was relieved from active duty, December, 1945 and from the United States Marine Corps Reserve in May, 1951 with the rank of Captain. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross with Two Gold Stars and Air Medal with Eight Gold Stars. He returned to University of Missouri - Columbia and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1947 and received a Law Degree in 1950 and began the Practive of Law here in St. Charles in September, 1950. In August, 1949, he and the former Mary G. Dyer were married at St. Paul, Missouri and they have five children: Margaret, Frank, Michael, Mary and Ann and six grandchildren who all live here in St. Charles. He served on the Board of Directors for Boys Club of St. Charles (now Boys and Girls Club of St. Charles County) as a Charter Member in 1956 and has continued to be a Board member since that time. He has also been a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, the St. Charles Democratic Club, the St. Charles Smartt Field Commission, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Marine Corps League, St. Charles County Racoon Hunters Association and St. Peter Catholic Church. In 1951 he was elected and served three terms as City Attorney for St. Charles. In 1956 he was elected and served four terms as Prosecuting Attorney for the County of St. Charles. He also served three terms on the Judicial ethics Committee and continued to practice law in St. Charles. In 1998, St. Charles Chamber of Commerce selected him as recipient of its Lifetime Distinguished Award-Humanitarian.
