Archie Lee Wayne

Archie L. Wayne, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the age of 86.  Loving husband of 65 years to the late Harriette L. Wayne; beloved son of the late Margaret and Archie L. Wayne, Sr.; devoted father of Gregory (Kathie) Wayne, Cynthia Wayne (Steven Jackson), Sandra (Scott) Bichel, David (Mary) Wayne, and the late Stephen L. Wayne; cherished grandfather of Anastasia (Ed) Huggins, Jessica (Brad) Ermeling, Bradley (Abby) Bichel, Tyler (Heidi) Wayne, Alicia (Sam) Harkness, Adam Jackson, Corey (Alex) Bichel, Zoe Jackson, Adrienne Jackson; treasured great-grandfather of Ella Ermeling, Nora Ermeling, Owen Ermeling, Payton Harkness, James Bichel, Leni Bichel, Lucy Wayne, and Dottie Mae Wayne; beloved brother of Margaret (Tom) Wayne and the late Lorraine (Wayne) Kinman. 

Arch was married for almost 65 years to his best friend.  He was a proud father, grandpa and great-grandpa, and enjoyed and appreciated his big family. He enjoyed watching sports, playing chess and cards, gardening, puzzling, DIY projects and traveling/camping trips around the US. 

Arch proudly worked for McDonnel Douglas and Boeing for 38 years as a technical illustrator.  He served the country as part of the Missouri National Guard.  Once the nest was empty, he and Harriette got a little more adventurous and went on trips out of the country, to places such as Hawaii, Europe, Mexico, Canada, and with some cruises in between.   

Arch actively supported Borromeo Catholic Church volunteering in various capacities.  He and Harriette were very active even in their later years and went on a mission trip at the age of 75.   

Throughout his life, Arch was actively involved with the Men of Beaumont (alumni group).  He was well-known for his dry-wit. Even though Arch was quiet and reserved, he cared about people and was compassionate about their situations.  

Arch was well loved and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.  Memorial contributions may be made in Arch's name to Muscular Dystrophy or Donor’s Choice.
