Arlene McIntosh (nee Vessels), of Wright City, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the age of 89. Loving wife of Gary McIntosh; beloved daughter of the late Paul, Sr. and Arlene Vessels; devoted mother of Toni (Bill) Lowe, Terri (Terry) Rodes, and Tim Twiehaus; cherished grandmother of Erik (Jen) Fritts, Ryan (Laura) Fritts, Alison (Seth) Bruffett, Libby (Tyler) Bechtold, Jill (Brian) Creech, and Tim (Heidi) Twiehaus; treasured great-grandmother of 15.
Arlene was a member of Kent Memorial Lutheran Church in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. She began her working career at the age of 16 at Southwestern Bell and later became a cashier at Kroger until retirement. Arlene never officially retired as she cleaned houses after her retirement with Kroger.
Her biggest passion was her family and second came cruising Resale Shops. Arlene was constantly redecorating and changing things around her house, with the deals she would find. At times, she would even sell items that she did not want any longer, back to the Resale Shops. If you knew Arlene, you knew she loved shopping, especially for shoes as she had hundreds of them. Arlene never had just one of anything. She was always buying in bundles and did not like if she was told she didn’t need to purchase something.
Arlene loved animals, especially her cat Stella, whom she referred to as her baby. Arlene loved to go out to eat at Olive Garden, it was often her first choice for lunch. Anytime she was asked where she wanted to eat, it was always Olive Garden. In her free time she also enjoyed gardening. Arlene was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Arlene's name to Five Acres Animal Shelter.
