Arlie Helene Wilhelmina Wolter, of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the age of 95.
Arlie was born in Orchard Farm and attended Trinity Lutheran School. After the death of her mother, Agnes Nolle Wolter, Arlie’s family moved to St. Charles. She finished grade school at Immanuel Lutheran at the age of 12 and graduated from St. Charles High at age 16.
Arlie worked for Roosevelt Federal Savings and Loan, serving as their Executive Secretary, mostly in the downtown office at 9th and Olive, and later in the Chesterfield office. She enjoyed traveling with her sister, Shirley, and visiting numerous places. Arlie was involved in the Lydia Society at Immanuel, as well as the church archives department.
Arlie was active in the lives of her great nieces and nephews, Clare, Helena, and Rod Gillett, Erin, Andrew, and Adelaide Deppe, and Ben Woods, which she and Shirley treated like grandchildren.
Arlie is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Agnes (Nolle) Wolter, sisters Stella, Shirley and Dorothy (Gillette), and her brother Melvin Wolter. She is survived by her nephews, Chris Wolter and Tom (Holly) Gillette, and nieces Anne (Mike) Woods and Susan (Tim) Deppe.
