Arthur Dan Kiehne, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the age of 80. Loving husband of 55+ years to Deanna Kiehne; beloved son of the late Arthur H. and Rebecca E. Kiehne; devoted father of Doug (Annette) Kiehne and David (Susan) Kiehne; cherished grandfather of Melissa, Rachel, Jason, Kevin, Jonathan, Joshua, Joseph, and Elizabeth; and dear brother of Rolfe (Johna) Kiehne
Arthur proudly served his country in the U. S. Army Reserves. He received a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from University School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla, Missouri, and his master’s in Engineering Management from Washington University. He retired after more than 41 years with Shell Oil Company as a Chemical Engineer.
Arthur valued his faith in God, and was a member of Grace Community Chapel, where he was very involved as an elder, usher, and Awana Club teacher. He loved sharing the Gospel and volunteered with the prison ministry.
He loved the outdoors and traveling with his family, and they visited 48 of 50 states together. Later, Arthur and his wife vacationed on their anniversaries to Hawaii and Alaska to complete their 50 state tour. He cherished spending time with his family, and coached his sons little league baseball and basketball teams. He also enjoyed fishing trips with his sons. Arthur and his family looked forward to mushroom hunting season, as this was a tradition they held to every year. In his spare time, he could be found tending to his tomatoes and amazing strawberry patch.
Arthur’s smile would light up any room he walked into. He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
