Arthur “Sadie” Hawkins of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday October 10, 2017, at the age of 87 years. Beloved partner of more than 40 years to Joyce Jean Caton; cherished son of the late Foy Riley and Prudence Hawkins; loving uncle of William Joseph Hawkins. Arthur was preceded in death by his brothers William Joseph Hawkins, Harold Larie Hawkins, and niece Jolene Miles.
Sadie proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a Production Planner at McDonnell Douglas for 30 years before retiring. An avid airplane enthusiast, Sadie built and flew planes out of Creve Coeur Airport and was a member of the Active Experimental Aircraft Association and the Swift Museum Foundation. He was a HAM operator (NØBRD) and a member of the American Radio Relay League. Sadie enjoyed white water rafting all over the U.S. and spent his winters in Mission, Texas. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
