Audrey Mae Harter Wigham Pierce

August 4, 1925 — December 10, 2013

Audrey Mae Harter Wigham-Pierce, of O'Fallon, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her daughter, Linda Wigham Champions' home on December 10, 2013. She was born on August 4, 1925 to A. Albert and Mae Georgia Harter (nee: Spradling), and married Charles Wigham. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Charles Wigham and second husband Neil Pierce. She is survived by her son and two daughters; grandchildren Jason Null, Bethany Saak Nickle, Dawn Wigham Benson, Morgan Nickle, Grace Nickle, and Luke Benson.
Audrey was an accomplished artist as was her brother, Bud Harter, mother and uncle. She entered her paintings in many competitions with her friend, Margie Snyder, where they both brought home many awards and blue ribbons. She was always up for any adventure, including but not limited to fishing, boating, dog showing and judging, riding horses, along with showing and breeding Arabian horses.
Audrey was a business owner most of her life, owning 'Dog In Suds' pet grooming, and a boarding and grooming kennel, Edgewood Kennels in Harvester where she bred the top American Cocker Spaniels, shown and accomplished championships in three countries.
Linda Wigham Champion will be forever grateful and in debt for the kind and loving care of Denise and Jerry Hall for her mother in her last years, for which, she could not have kept her at home.
Audrey loved flowers as she made their likeness come alive in her artwork. Anyone admiring her work was gladly offered a painting. She would like to be surrounded by flowers from your yard or garden so if you would plant a flower for her and send a picture of it next spring to her daughter, Linda Champion in her memory.
