August (Gus) Lee Schauwecker

August (Gus) Lee Schauwecker, 61, husband of Pamela M. Walsh (Gruenloh) died unexpectedly April 20, 2020 at Barnes Hospital St. Louis. Born Feburary 1, 1959 in St. Louis to the late August N. and Marylee (Nelson) Schauwecker, Gus graduated from Hazelwood West High school and went on to University of Missouri Columbia and received and Associates Degree in Accounting from St Louis Community College. August worked at True Manufacturing for the past 17 years. In his spare time Gus loved to watch most sports, (baseball, hockey, and soccer) and was good with remembering and knowing statistics. He has participated in a Fantasy Baseball League since 1985 and won twice. These men and their wives are like family. August has collected stamps since around 10 years old and has a collection of baseball cards. Gus and Pam liked attending a weekly auction with friends.

He is survived by his sons Justin, Nick, Brendan, Tyler, and daughter Kaitlin Schauwecker. Also, Gus had step-sons Steven, Samuel, and step-daughters Sarah and Rachel. Also, survived by brother August Theodore (Ted) and Patricia (Hagen) Schauwecker of Troy, MO and Karl Joseph and Connie (Rieth) Schauwecker of Creve Couer, MO; 6 nieces and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or family choice.

Due to the Covid-19 virus there will be no visitation but, the family is planning a celebration of life for Gus at a later date.
