Aurelio A. Swain Jr.

June 30, 1937 — September 23, 2024

Saint Peters, Missouri

Aurelio “Al” Swain Jr., of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Patricia J. Swain; cherished son of the late Antonia and Aurelio A. Swain, Sr.; stepfather of Guy McDaniel and the late Marty Allen; loving grandfather of Elizabeth and Emily; dear brother of the late Virginia Ruesch, the late Robert Swain, and the late Edward Swain; treasured brother-in-law of Thelma “Penny” Indelicato and Linda Decker; loving uncle, cousin, and friend.

Al was a passionate sportsman in his younger days, excelling at baseball and softball. He was also an unbeatable ping pong player. His competitive spirit extended to bowling, and as a devoted fan of college football, he followed the Missouri Tigers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish religiously. Aurelio cherished his Hispanic heritage, especially its food. He loved looking at decorations for each holiday, with fall being his favorite season because of its cooler weather, vibrant trees, and, of course, football. He had a special fondness for watching hummingbirds and indulging in chocolate Hershey bars, though nothing compared to his love for his wife Pat’s cooking. Speaking of Pat, he always reminded her that she was the prettiest woman in the world. Though not always outwardly emotional, Al had a heart of gold.

Pat wants to extend thanks to Dr. Nicolas Gourtzelis for his care of Al through the years as well as for his friendship. She also wishes to thank her sisters, who have been her steadfast support through this time. Lastly, she would like to thank nephews Tim Ruesch and Jason Swain for their help and support.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in St. Charles Missouri at a later date with details to be forthcoming.

Al was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
