Barry Curtis Nelson, 59, of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, passed away on January 31,2022 at his home in Dardenne Prairie, MO. He was born on July 24, 1962, the son of Irmagene Blockinger and Raymond E. Nelson, at the U. S. Marine Corps Base Hospital, Quantico, Virginia. He spent his first 14 years residing in California, namely Simi Valley, Yorba Linda, and Thousand Oaks. He later moved to Illinois with his family and graduated from Marshall High School, Marshall, Illinois. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps where he spent his entire four years in the field of Electronics. He was promoted ahead of his peers and rose to the rank of Sergeant. He graduated cum laude with a Degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, followed by a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. He also received a Business Degree from Washington University. He was employed for ten years with McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing); 15 years with Reuters where he went on business trips to India and Switzerland. He was presently employed with the London Stock Exchange, located in St. Louis, Missouri. He was an entrepreneur and created his own business where he specialized in electronics at the initial beginning of the computer age.
He was a loving son and especially gracious with remembering his parents on all occasions. He was married to Ana Rose Nelson for 25 years. Barry and Ana enjoyed travelling and seeing the world together. During their many years of marriage, they raised two boys, Matthew and Luke. Barry Nelson is survived by his mother Irmagene, his wife, two children, two grandchildren, Max Bautista Nelson and Charlotte Rose Nelson and one brother, Barton Nelson.
