Beatrice “Bea” Eileen Blazek (née Shambaugh), passed away peacefully at home on February 15th, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born on June 16th, 1931, in St Clairsville, Ohio, to her parents William and Marjorie Shambaugh (née Giffen). She was preceded in death by her husband John Henry Blazek; brother Bill Shambaugh (Wanda) and sister Lois Pickering (Byron). She is survived by her three children: John William Blazek (Jeanetta) of St. Charles, Missouri; Jane Ann Gilman (John) of St Peters, Missouri; and Thomas Robert Blazek (Nancy) of Papillion, Nebraska; sister Margaret “Peg” Coleman (Joseph) of St Clairsville, Ohio; and many loving grand and great-grandchildren spread across the country.
Bea was a loving and devoted wife and mother, proud homemaker, and much more. She was a humble servant of the Lord, Girl Scout leader, private pilot, animal lover, bridge player, and worked as a secretary at various times in her life helping North American Aviation, Monsanto, and McDonnell Douglas. She worked to improve her and the family’s ability to travel the world, which she did extensively throughout her adult life, be it by land, sea or air. The people and places she visited, the things she saw, and the memories she created, brought her much joy and happiness. She will always be missed, but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bea’s name to Five Acres Animal Shelter of St Charles.
