Beau Gary Rose, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the age of 81. Beau proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, an associate member of VFW and the St. Robert’s Catholic Church Parish Council. He practiced his faith even as a teenager after the loss of his siblings. Beau was an avid sportsman who enjoyed playing and watching a variety of sports, including baseball, golf, racquetball, horseshoes, darts, boxing, and bowling, and he won awards. He also coached little league, including in college.
Beau graduated from Southeast Missouri State University as a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He double majored in math and physics. He spent 29 years as an engineer at McDonnell Douglas before embarking on his second career as the photo lab manager at Sam’s Club. He was a very generous man and would always bring gifts for family and friends, especially children. He was a generous donor to numerous causes, including St. Joseph’s School, Wounded Warriors, Special Olympics, St. Jude’s and Backstoppers, and was a lifelong blood donor who donated 50 gallons of blood.
Beau was an avid reader who enjoyed reading history and sports books. Beau and Carolyn met when a mutual friend dared him to ask Carolyn out. At first he did not want to travel but after spending his 30
th anniversary in Hawaii, he fell in love with the state and kept going back, despite a fear of flying. Carolyn’s dad thought of him as a son he never had, and he helped on their farm during the summers. Beau was cared for in his last years by a special healthcare hero, Amber. Beau was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
