Bernita M. “Bea” Mayfield

September 18, 1936 — September 16, 2013

Mayfield, Bernita M. "Bea", of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Monday, September 16, 2013 at the age of 76. Loving wife of the late Dallas W. Mayfield; beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Esther Riggert; devoted mother of Robert Schroeder, Joyce Schroeder, Barbara (Michael) Sovinski, Cathy (Michael) Reel, Tony Pollard, and Linda Carnefix; loving grandmother and great-grandmother; also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and will be truly missed; dear sister of Orville (Lynn) Riggert, Leola Riggert, and Donna (JB) Coufal. She is preceded in death by her brother baby Riggert, daughter Judith Fanno, and step-son Dallas Mayfield Jr.
Bea grew up outside a small town in Kansas. Bea had always wanted to pursue a career in nursing and set forth to make it happen. She worked hard to become a nurse and was one for over fifty years. She enjoyed her work but mostly the people she met along the way. She touched the hearts of many.
Bea also had always wanted to see the world to explore new things and experience life and different cultures. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Dallas until God called him home. She continued to travel many countries with her dear friend until the very end. She truly lived life to the fullest.
Beas was a member of the Eastern Star over 50 years. Bea's greatest feat in life was being a Mom to eight children and watching them grow to have children of their own and celebrating their life achievements. Though family life was not always easy and trying at times, she was always the place to call home.
Bea was a giving person who volunteered her time to help others. She loved being a part of her church family. Bea will be sorely missed in this world, but welcomed into God's loving arms.
