Beloved wife of James H. Smith, and loving mother of Renee (Jeff) Rand of DeBary, FL, Paul (Leslie) Reynolds of Garrettsville, OH; Lisa (Chuck) Kenney of Flower Mound, TX; and Wayne (Debbie) Reynolds of St. Charles, MO, stepmother of Victoria (Richard) Shuttleworth of Huntington Beach, CA and Matthew (Clare) Smith of Mt. Lebanon, PA, died on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006. Born on Feb. 23, 1931 in Benton, IL, she graduated from Benton High School and earned a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry in 1954 from the University of Illinois. She completed her Dietetics Internship at St. Lukes Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. A former longtime resident of Rocky River, Ohio, she was a member of Rocky River United Methodist Church. Her first husband, Dr. Wayne Reynolds, a physician at Lakewood Hospital, preceded her in death. She married James in 1973. In 1979, they moved to New Harmony, IN, where they opened Harmony Herbs, a gourmet cooking and food store. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she enjoyed cooking and gardening. In 1983, she created a floral arrangement that won first place and a trip to Switzerland. In New Harmony, she also was an active member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren: Katy, Michael, Ken, Stacey, Jessie, Peter, Mason, Addie, Tyler, Alissa and Eli.
