Betty A. Costello (nee Wuennenberg), of St. Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the age of 82. Cherished daughter of the late Harry A. Sr., and the late Anita E. Wuennenberg; devoted mother of John J. (Jenny Hilt-Costello) Costello, Jr., Jane (Jay) Coffey, and Jim Costello; loving grandmother of John Costello, III and Jared Coffey; dear sister of Kenneth L. (Kathleen) Wuennenberg, Dolores (Rich) Preis, Ramona Hoorman, Jo Sue (Don) Temmen and the late Harry A. Weunnenberg, Jr.; Elizabeth was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
Betty was the neighborhood “Nonnie” and the mom on the block that everybody loved. She was a PTA mother, helped teach art classes, and tutored students through Oasis for many years. Betty was known for her many quilts, she even made many as gifts for others to give. The City of Long Beach 150-year quilt includes one of her squares, she was also part of the quilting group at St. Cletus Catholic Church where she was an active member. Betty was a registered nurse and retired from St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO. Her grandsons were the light of her life. Betty was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Betty's name to St. Vincent DePaul Society or SSM St. Joseph Hospice.
